About the artist

Throughout my artistic practic, I’ve been captivated by nostalgia. My artist name, Glass Bambi, is inspired by the retro glass Bambi ornaments that decorated my grandma's side cabinet.

I always been drawn to kitsch imagery that evokes an emotional connection to the past. My paintings are influenced by cinema, music and fashion from past decades drawing inspiration from vintage photography and fashion editorials. I paint portraits of musical icons or past models that define a generation. Recently, my work has evolved to into figurative surrealism combining retro aesthetics, visual storytelling and symbolism. Exploring the use of metaphor and light, I aim to explore the sentiment of nostalgia through a more contemporary lens.

Every piece begins with a story — painted to capture beauty, fragility, and the comfort of nostalgia.

I think the beautiful about the past is that it brings you to the present.

Inspirations

My work celebrates the charm of past decades, vintage icons, nostalgic motifs, and the aesthetics of yesteryear playfully reimagined through a contemporary lens. By blending retro visual language with modern imagery, I create pieces that honour the past while speaking to the present.

My recent works lean toward cinematic compositions, illuminated atmospheres, and the polished elegance of vintage fashion editorials. Paired with glassy, reflective textures, these elements allow me to explore memory, mood, and modern identity through a distinctly nostalgic gaze
